Wail changing my site configuration from floating licenses to named users I came across two main issues.
- If the transition grace period has ended or if the floating license server is down then you cannot go into the Autodesk software in order to change the license type.The easiest way to work around this issue is to delete the appropriate folder (or all folders) under C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS and then we will get the "Select License Type" dialog.
- I had few legacy, Windows 7, computers that I needed to change the license type. When trying to point the computers to the Autodesk Cloud I got a "Connect to the Internet" massage.
When testing the internet all was OK.
The issue is related with security protocols the computer is using to connect to servers as described in the following Microsoft article
Update to enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols in WinHTTP in Windows (microsoft.com)
And to short your reading, the solution is to download and install the following Microsoft easy fix.
